The Waukesha Church of Christ has it's roots in the restoration movement of the 18th Century. In those days, the Lord's Church had become divided into a multitude of denominations all of whom claimed to be the only Church. Each denomination condemned all who didn't follow their own particaular creed. In this hostile enviroment, Jesus' prayer for unity, (John 17), began to move Christians to reject the man made creeds that caused so much strife.
They determined to be known simply by the name "Christians" and to hold only to the teachings found in the Bible. They refused to make creeds and hold to man made traditions. Their goal was to restore the beliefs and practices of the Church found in the New Testament.

Worship
Worship at the Waukesha Church of Christ is simple and informal. We gather together to draw near to God through prayer, praise, preaching and communion. Our prayers are led by various men of the congregation and are spontaneous and heartfelt. Our praise is acappella and sung by the whole congregation. Our preaching is from the Bible, both old and New Testaments. Our communion is a simple meal of unleavened bread and grape juice and is open to visitors.
During worship we "pass the basket" to receive donations to support the work of the Church from our members. Visitors need not feel obligated to contribute an offering; we are more interested in serving you than your wallet. We welcome your gifts, but we would rather you fill out a "Visitor Card" and place it in the the basket so we can have a record of your attendance, and minister to your needs.

Our number one priority at the Waukesha Church of Christ is to know Jesus and to serve Him. Knit together by His love, we work together ministering to one another and sharing our faith with those who do not know him.
